Pacers rookie Lance Stephenson must appear in a New York courtroom on October 19th to face charges of assault, reckless endangerment and menacing, for an alleged altercation with his girlfriend. Witnesses said Stephenson was waiting for her at her apartment and yelled, "Are you kidding me?" before pushing her down the stairs ... as Williams lay at the bottom of the stairs, Stephenson picked up her head and slammed it on the bottom step." The victim was treated for head, back, and possibly neck injuries.

Carmelo Anthony still hasn't decided whether to accept the Nuggets' three-year $65 million contract extension. He has plenty of time to make up his mind, as he could just pick up his player option for 2011-12 season which pays him $18.5 million. There has been no deadline set by the Nuggets, so he really doesn't have to make a move until June 30, 2011.
