Cleveland Cavaliers at Chicago Bulls Betting Odds

Opening Line: Cavaliers +2.5 / Bulls -2.5 O/U 193

Time: 8 PM EST Thursday April 8, 2010 on TNT

Tonight in the Windy City the desperate Chicago Bulls host the Cleveland Cavaliers. Not that the playoff race in the Eastern Conference needed any more intrigue, but that is just what has happened. The Bulls trail the Toronto Raptors by a half game for the 8th and last playoff spot with only a few games left and it may be easier to catch them since the Raptors likely lost their best player, Chris Bosh, for the remainder of the regular season with an injury.

With Toronto not in action tonight Chicago can pull even with them with a home win tonight.

This game really means nothing to the Cavs, as they have already wrapped up the top-seed in the playoffs. However, they still would like to win this game since tonight's game may be a 1st round playoff match up and Cleveland does not want to give Chicago any confidence.

This season the Bulls are 22-17 at home and 39-36-2 ATS and the Cavaliers are 26-13 on the road and 38-39-1 ATS.

Both teams played on Tuesday night in this last games, but with different results, as the Bulls lost to the Milwaukee Bucks 79-74 while the Cavs beat the Toronto Raptors 113-101.

The Cavs will be shorthanded in this game, as not only is Shaquille O'Neal out, but they will also be without guards Delonte West and Daniel Gibson.

The Bulls do have a decent defense and they have to play good D tonight, as they only rank 24th in the league in scoring.

You know LeBron James will score, but the Bulls have to really key on Antawn Jamison (18.8 ppg) and Mo Williams (15.5) and not let these guys have big scoring games.

The Cavs are one of the best rebounding teams in the league and the Bulls, especially Joakim Noah (10.7 rpg), have to hit the glass and not allow the Cavs to dominate the boards.

Derrick Rose is the leading scorer for the Bulls this season and he has to play well tonight. However, he has struggled against Cleveland in his short career only averaging 13.8 ppg on 34% in 6 games.
