Opening Betting Lines: Celtics +7.5 / Cavaliers -7.5 O/U 193.5
Time: 8 PM EST Tuesday May 11, 2010 on TNT
This best of 7 series is tied at 2 games apiece.
Well, it's all even as not only did the Cavaliers and Celtics split their 4 game series in the regular season they now are tied at 2-2 in this Eastern Conference semifinals series with Cleveland hosting Boston tonight.
After Boston PG Rajon Rondo had a triple-double (29-point, 18-rebound, 13-assist) in a dominating performance in Game 4 the Cavs may switch up their scheme on defense and have LeBron James guard him. Rondo stated he does not care who guards him, but if King James can shut him down the Cavs will be in good shape.
If James guards Rondo it may free up Paul Pierce, who is only averaging 11.8 ppg on 32% shooting with James guarding him.
This season the Cavaliers were 35-6 at home and 39-42-1 ATS and the Celtics were 26-15 on the road and 32-48-2 ATS.
The Celtics beat the Cavs at home in Game 4 on Sunday 97-87.
Before the Celtics upset the Cavaliers at home in Game 2 Cleveland had won 12 of their last 13 post-season games at home.
The Cavs not only have to contain Rondo, but they also have to shoot the rock better, as in Game 4 they only shot 40.3% from the field and James only had 22 points on 7/18 shooting including missing all 5 of his 3-point shots. James also had 7 turnovers in the game.
Besides Rondo's monster game one of the main reasons Boston won Game 4 was that they out-rebounded Cleveland by 14 boards and had 6 more offensive boards.
The Cavs' backcourt of Mo Williams and Anthony Parker have to play better then they did in Game 4 when they combined to score 23 points on only 6/16 shooting.
The Cavs still have home court advantage in this series, but the Celtics won Game 2 at Cleveland so they know how to win on their floor.
Cleveland head coach Mike Brown benched Shaq for most of the 4th quarter in Game 4 and he may want to rethink that strategy, as the Diesel had a good game going for 17 points on 5/9 shooting and he surprisingly hit 7/11 from the free throw line.
