Miami Heat at Boston Celtics Betting Odds

Opening Betting Lines: : Heat +1 / Celtics -1 O/U 179

Time: 8 PM EST Tuesday April 20, 2010 on TNT

Boston leads the best of 7 series 1-0.

Tonight in the 2nd game of an Eastern Conference playoff series the Boston Celtics host the Miami Heat. The Heat have a little more hope in this game, as Boston’s Kevin Garnett is suspended after throwing an elbow at Quentin Richardson in the end of Game 1.

This season the Celtics are 24-17 at home and 32-48-2 ATS and the Heat are 23-18 on the road and 42-39-1 ATS.

KG is one of the Celtics’ best passes and defenders and his loss may really hurt tonight. In Game 1 KG had 15 points and grabbed 9 boards.

The Celtics were 3-0 during the regular season against the Heat and one of those wins was without KG in the lineup.

Boston won Game 1 of the series 85-76.

The Celtics played great defense in Game 1 holding the Heat to only 76 points and only 32 points in the 2nd half.

In Game 1 Dwayne Wade and Quinten Richardson were solid combining for 41 points on a combined 16/28 shooting, but the rest of the Miami starters only had 20 points. Jermaine O'Neal really struggled in Game 1 only scoring 8 points on 3/14 shooting. O’Neal and Michael Beasley have to help Wade out on offense tonight.

The Heat were very sloppy with the rock in Game 1 committing 19 turnovers and if they do that again and shoot under 40% from the field, which they did in the game, they will be heading back to the Sunshine State down 0-2.

With KG out the other Celtics have to pick up the defensive, as well as scoring slack. The other Big 3 players of Ray Allen and Paul Pierce have to play better than in the opening game of the series, as even though they did have 26 points between them they only shot a combined 6/21 from the floor.

Boston jumped out to a 14-point lead early in the 3rd quarter of Game 1 and the Heat cannot allow that to happen again, as they are not a high scoring team. This season the Heat only ranked 25th in the league in scoring (96.5 ppg).
