Dallas Mavericks at San Antonio Spurs Betting Odds

Opening Betting Lines: Mavericks +3.5 / Spurs -3.5 O/U 191

Time: 8 PM EST Thursday April 29, 2010 on TNT

Tonight the San Antonio Spurs will be at home trying to close out their 1st round Western Conference playoff series against the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavs are the 2nd seed in the West, but their backs are against the wall against a Spurs' squad that may just have one more title run in them.

The Mavs won the last game easily winning by 22 points, but now have to win at San Antonio, which they have not done in this series.

The Spurs lead this best of 7 series 3-2.

This season the Spurs were 29-12 at home and 43-39 ATS and the Mavericks were 27-14 on the road and 36-44-2 ATS.

The Mavs beat the Spurs103-81 on Tuesday night.

Tim Duncan had at least 25 points in the first 3 games of the series, but in the last 2 games he only has a total of 15 points. He has to play well tonight and give the Spurs some offense, which will open up the perimeter for the shooters.

Speaking of Spurs' shooters Manu Ginobili is only shooting 26% from the floor since breaking his nose in Game 3. San Antonio will need him to bury some shots tonight to close out the Mavs.

San Antonio was down big in the 1st half of Game 5 and could never come back. They only shot 35.9% from the floor in the game and they definitely have to improve on that tonight. They also have shoot better from deep, as in the game they only hit on 3 of their 16 3-pointers.

The Mavs played great defense and had 11 more rebounds in Game 5 and they will have to do that tonight. Caron Butler blew up for 35 points in the game and if he has a big scoring game the Mavs are tough to beat.

The Spurs have a better half court team and they will need to slow the pace of the game tonight. In Game 5 they allowed the Mavs to have 23 fast break points and they cannot do that tonight.

San Antonio also has to hold onto the rock tonight, as in Game 5 they committed 18 turnovers.
