Phoenix Suns at Utah Jazz Betting Odds

Opening Betting Lines: Phoenix +6 / Utah -6 Over/Under 221

Time: 10:30 PM EST Wednesday April 14, 2010 on ESPN

Tonight in the last game of the regular season for both teams the Utah Jazz host the Phoenix Suns. Both teams will make the playoffs, but since each has identical records this game is big for playoff positioning.

The winner will get the #3 seed in the West and will not have to face the Lakers in a possible 2nd round playoff series. The Jazz can get the 2nd seed in the West, but have to win this game and Dallas has to lose at home to San Antonio tonight. If Utah loses they will be the 5th seed and Denver will be the 4th seed, but if the Suns lose they will be the 4th seed and Denver will be the 5th seed.

If Utah loses they will not be hosting a 1st round playoff series and that is not good for them, as they are only 1 game above .500 on the road this season.

This season the Jazz are 32-8 at home and 48-29-3 ATS and the Suns are 21-19 on the road and 45-31-1.

The Jazz have won 2 in a row and are 7-3 in their last 10 games and the Suns have also won 2 straight and are 8-2 in their last 10 games.

In their last games both teams played last night, as the Jazz beat the Golden State Warriors 103-94 and the Suns beat the Denver Nuggets 123-101.

Utah is a decent defensive team and they will have to play solid D tonight against a Suns' squad that is the highest scoring team in the league.

Deron Williams (18.7 ppg) not only has to have a good scoring game, but also keep Suns' PG Steve Nash (16.6 ppg 11 assists per game) from penetrating and dishing out to the outside shooters for open looks.

The PF match up is a sweet one tonight and may be the difference in this game. Carlos Boozer (19.7 ppg 11.3 rpg) will be facing Amare Stoudamire (23.1 ppg 9 rpg) and each will be counted on for offense and to control the glass. Boozer injured his ribcage last night and will be a game time decision for tonight's game.

There is even more pressure on Stoudamire to be the big guy inside since Suns' C Robin Lopez is out with an injury.

Deron Williams and the Jazz have to slow down the run-and-gun Suns and make this a half court game and if they do that they should win.

The Suns will have to knock down their open J's and hit the 3-point ball to win this game, as they lack much inside presence besides Stoudamire.

The Jazz have won 2 of the 3 games they have played against the Suns this season.
