Golden State Warriors at Utah Jazz Betting Odds

Opening Line: Warriors +13 / Jazz -13 O/U 230.5

Time: 10 PM EST Wednesday March 31, 2010 on ESPN

Tonight in a Western Conference match up the Utah Jazz host the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors are headed for another losing season and another high draft pick and while the Jazz will make the playoffs every remaining game is important for playoff positioning.

The Jazz are in the 3rd spot in the West, but they are in a logjam, as they only trail 2nd place Dallas by ½ game and only lead 4th place Phoenix by ½ game and 5th place Denver by 1 game. The higher the Jazz move up in the standings the more likely it will be that they host playoff games and that is a big thing, as the Jazz are one of the bets home teams in the West, but are only 1 game over .500 on the road.

The Jazz have won 2 in a row and are 7-3 in their last 10 games while the Warriors are coming off a win and are 4-6 in their last 10 games.

This season the Jazz are 30-8 at home and a NBA best 46-26-3 ATS and the Warriors are 5-30 on the road and 42-30-1 ATS.

In their last games the Jazz beat the New York Knicks 103-98 and the Warriors beat the L.A. Clippers 121-103.

The Jazz will be facing a Warriors offense that ranks 2nd in the league scoring, but at least their offense should have no problem lighting up the scoreboard on a Warriors defense that is giving up the most points per game in the league.

The Warriors are not a good road team, to say the least, and they will be without their leading scorer Monta Ellis (25.5 ppg), who is back in the Bay Area with the flu. Rookie Stephen Curry (16.5 ppg) has been playing great, as he is averaging 21.7 ppg in his last 23 games.

Golden State is the worst team in the league on the boards with a rebounding differential of -9.2 rpg, which is not good facing Carlos Boozer (11.2 rpg) and a Utah team that has a rebounding differential of +2.6 rpg.

The Warriors will have to shoot lights out tonight and hit the boards as a team or they will get killed in this game.

The Jazz are obviously a much better team, but they cannot take the Warriors for granted, as Golden State has nothing to play for but pride and they will come out firing tonight.

When the lines come out for this game beware, as even though the Jazz are the best ATS team in the league the Warriors are a very solid ATS team and in the last 5 games in this series the road team has an ATS record of 4-1.

The Warriors won their last game in Utah, but since the 1987 season they are 6-40 there.
