Dayton Flyers vs. Mississippi Rebels 3-30
Tonight the Dayton Flyers take on the Mississippi Rebels in the Big Apple, in the NIT's first semifinals match up. Dayton faltered down the stretch and only ended the season 8-8 in the Atlantic 10 Conference and even though Ole Miss finished the season strong they were only 9-7 in the SEC.
Baylor Bears vs. Duke Blue Devils 3-28
In the South Region Elite 8 game the top-seed Duke Blue Devils face the 3rd seed Baylor Bears. Duke is the last top-seed remaining in the Big Dance and they look to get back to the Final 4 for the first time since 2004, which is a major drought for the Blue Devils.
West Virginia Mountaineers vs. Kentucky Wildcats 3-27
In a West Region Elite 8 match up tonight the top-seed Kentucky Wildcats take on the West Virginia Mountaineers. The West region is the only #1 vs. #2 match up and one of a couple of very contrasting styles. Kentucky is a high scoring team with a dynamic offense and West Virginia is a tough and physical team that wins with defense.
St. Mary's Gaels vs. Baylor Bears 3-26
Tonight in a Sweet 16 game in the South Region the 3rd seed Baylor Bears take on the 10th seed St. Mary's Gaels. Will St. Mary's stay the Cinderella team in the Big Dance with a win tonight? Baylor has a solid and well-balanced team and has not got a lot of press all season, but if they can win this game and advance to the Elite 8 that will all change.
Xavier Musketeers vs. Kansas State Wildcats 3-25
Tonight in West Region Sweet 16 match up the 6th seed Xavier Musketeers host the 2nd seed Kansas State Wildcats. The Wildcats are in the Sweet 16 for the first time since 1988 and they have been flying under the radar all season, but many are picking them to be a Final 4 team.
Duke Blue Devils vs. California Golden Bears 3-21
In a 2nd round match up in the South Region the 8th seed California Golden Bears face the top-ranked Duke Blue Devils. Duke may have some problems against Cal, as the Golden Bears are a well-balanced team that is one of the best 3-pt shooting teams in the NCAA tournament.
BYU Cougars vs. Kansas State Wildcats 3-20
Tonight in a West Region 2nd round match up the 7th seed BYU Cougars take on the 2nd seed Kansas State Wildcats. The Cougars are hoping for an upset against a Kansas State squad that many are picking as a Final 4 team.
Texas A&M Aggies vs. Utah State Aggies 3-19
Bettors have been hammering Texas A&M based on their strength of schedule, but they were only 2-7 against top 25 teams.
Florida State Seminoles vs. Gonzaga Bulldogs 3-19
Tonight in a 1st round match up in the West Region the 8th seed Gonzaga Bulldogs face the 9th seed Florida State Seminoles. This is the first ever meetings between these 2 schools and winner has a real shot to get to the Sweet 16, as the winner will likely play top-seed Syracuse, who has one of their main players out with an injury.
Michigan State Spartans vs. New Mexico State Aggies 3-19
In the 1st round game in the tough Midwestern Region the 5th seed Michigan State Spartans face the 12th seed New Mexico State Aggies. The Spartans won a share of the Big 10 title, but they lost in the quarterfinals of the Big 10 tournament.
Cornell Big Red vs. Temple Owls 3-19
On Friday afternoon in the 1st round game in the East region for both teams the 5th seeded Temple Owls take on the 12th seeded Cornell Big Red. Both teams won their respective conferences this season, as Temple won the Atlantic 10 and Cornell won the Ivy League.
UTEP Miners vs. Butler Bulldogs 3-18
In the opening game for both teams in the Big Dance in the Midwest region the 5th seeded Butler Bulldogs face the UTEP Miners. This game is tough for each team, but they are also in the toughest region, as the Midwest is stacked. Butler ended the season on fire, as they not only won the Horizon League, going undefeated, and the conference tournament, but they won their last 20 games.
Wake Forrest Demon Deacons vs. Texas Longhorns 3-18
Tonight the 8th seed Texas Longhorns take on the 9th seed Wake Forrest Demon Deacons in a 1st round East Region game. The big question for Texas is which Longhorns' team will show up? Will the Texas team that was once the #1 team in the nation this season or the one that lost 9 of their last 16 games. Wake Forrest also ended the season in a tailspin losing 5 of their last 6 games.
Winthrop vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff 3-16
Tonight in the first game in the Big Dance in the play-in game the Winthrop Eagles face the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions. It is crazy that the Lions are in the play-in game, as they began the season 0-11, but ended up coming in 2nd place in the Southwest Athletic Conference and then won the conference tournament to give them a shot to get in the final 64.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs West Virginia Mountaineers 3-12
The 6th ranked West Virginia Mountaineers face the Notre Dame Fighting Irish tonight in the semifinals of the Big East conference tournament . Since the Irish have made the semis they should get a invite to the NCAA tournament. WVU already has a ticket to the Big Dance, but if they can win tonight and in the finals they may snag a coveted #1 seed.
Cincinnati Bearcats vs West Virginia Mountaineers 3-11
Tonight's quarterfinals match up in the Big East, the 6th ranked West Virginia Mountaineers face the Cincinnati Bearcats. Cincy is on the bubble, and this is a must win game for them if they want to get in the Big Dance. WVU is in the NCAA tournament regardless of the outcome of this game.
Seton Hall Pirates vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish 3-10
Tonight in the 2nd round of the Big East conference tournament the Notre Dame Fighting Irish face the Seton Hall Pirates. Seton Hall is on the bubble, big time, and they may have to win this game, which would be their 20th, to improve their post-season resume to get an invite to the big dance.
Wright State Raiders vs. Butler Bulldogs 3-9
Tonight in the finals of the Horizon League conference tournament the 12th ranked Butler Bulldogs face the Wright State Raiders. Butler will be playing in the NCAA tournament regardless of the outcome of this game, but Wright State has to win to get an invite to the Big Dance.
St. Mary's Gaels vs. Gonzaga Bulldogs 3-8
Gonzaga Bulldogs face the St. Mary's Gaels in the West Coast Conference finals in Las Vegas. The Bulldogs won both games against the Gaels this season and neither game was close, as Gonzaga beat them at St. Mary's 89-82 in the middle of January and a month later they killed them at home 80-61.
Wisconsin Badgers at Illinois Fighting Illini 3-7
This game may be of more importance to Illinois, as they are on the bubble and a win over a ranked team would really look good on their Big Dance resume. Wisconsin can improve their NCAA tournament seed with a win and a solid showing in the Big 10 tournament.
North Carolina Tar Heels at Duke Blue Devils 3-6
Tonight in the biggest rivalry in all of college basketball the 4th ranked Duke Blue Devils host the North Carolina Tar Heels. This game is important for both teams, as Duke can win a share of the conference title with a win and North Carolina can keep their slim chances of getting an invite to the Big Dance with a win.
Kent State Golden Flashes at Akron Zips 3-5
Well tonight's Mid American Conference (MAC) between Kent State and Akron is for all the marbles, as the winner will win the conference and also get an automatic invite to the NCAA tournament. Even though the loser of this game will have 22 wins it is a long shot that they will get a Big Dance invite since the MAC is not a major conference.
Penn State Nittany Lions at Michigan State Spartans 3-4
Tonight in a Big 10 match up the 12th ranked Michigan State Spartans host the Penn State Nittany Lions. MSU is in the Big Dance and they can win a share of the Big 10 title if they win this game and their season finale. If they can win a share of the conference title it will really help the Spartans get a solid seed in the NCAA tournament.
Kansas State Wildcats at Kansas Jayhawks 3-3
Tonight in a HUGE Big 12 match up the 2nd ranked Kansas Jayhawks host the 5th ranked Kansas State Wildcats. Kansas lost out on a chance to win the conference losing in their last game while Kansas State has won 7 straight since losing to Kansas at home 81-79 in OT at home at the end of January.
Illinois Fighting Illini at Ohio State Buckeyes 3-2
The Buckeyes are on a 3 game winning streak and have won 9 of their last 10 games. The bookmakers opened the game with the Buckeyes as a 9 point favorite, the line has since moved to 10 most places and could move even higher by game time. It looked as if Illinois was in the NCAA tournament, but they have lost 3 of their last 4 games.
Georgetown Hoyas at West Virginia Mountaineers 3-1
If the Mountaineers win tonight they will get a bye, as the 3rd seed in the conference tournament. The Mountaineers have won 4 of their last 5. The Hoyas can get a bye in the conference tournament if they win this game and beat Cincinnati later this week. The Hoyas are struggling having lost 5 of their last 9 games.
Michigan State Spartans at Purdue Boilermakers 2-28
Today in a HUGE Big 10 match up the 3rd ranked Purdue Boilermakers host the 11th ranked Michigan State Spartans. If Purdue can win this game they will have beaten MSU twice this season and they will likely win the Big 12. Winning today will be harder for them, as they lost 2nd leading scorer and rebounder F Robbie Hummel to a season ending knee injury.
Villanova Wildcats at Syracuse Orange 2-27
Tonight in a HUGE Big East match up the 4th ranked Syracuse Orange host the 8th ranked Villanova Wildcats. The winner of this game will win the Big East and the game will be in front of the biggest on-campus crowd in college hoops history. There is an expected crowd of 34,616 tonight in the Carrier Dome.
