Oregon (10-0) is in the driver’s seat to play in the BCS National Championship game, but to get there they have to beat Arizona (7-3) this Friday as well as Oregon State next week in the Civil War game. Arizona has lost their last 2 games and those losses cost them a shot at a BCS game, but they can really improve their bowl situation with an upset in Oregon this Friday night. Oregon is the highest scoring team in the nation, but last week only scored 15 points in squeaking out a 2-point win over California.

In their last games Oregon beat California 15-13 while Arizona lost to USC 24-21.

Heading into this Pac 10 match up Oregon is 6-3-1 ATS and Arizona is 5-5 ATS. Even though Oregon is 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 home games Arizona has covered the spread 4 times in their last 5 games against Oregon.

To score the upset in this game Arizona QB Nick Foles has to play a great. Foles played well in the loss against USC passing for 353 yards with 3 TD and 0 INT, but he got little help from the running game, as the Wildcats only rushed for 51 yards. Oregon has the nation’s 22nd ranked passing defense and they held Cal to only 69 passing yards last week. Foles could really use some help from RB Keola Antolin (567 yards 7 TD), who only rushed for 38 rushing yards last week and if he does not get any he will have to play a career game for the Wildcats to have any chance to win.

Oregon has the nation’s 6th ranked rushing defense led by Heisman candidate RB LaMichael James, who last week rushed for 92 yards, which was only the 2nd game this season he did not break the 100-yard barrier on the ground. Arizona has the nation’s 14th ranked rushing defense, but in the loss to USC gave up 205 rushing yards and if they allow James to have a big game they have no chance to win. Oregon does not have a one-dimensional offense ranking 35th in the nation in passing yards per game, but the Wildcats will have to force QB Darron Thomas to beat them through the air.

Here are some other betting trends for this Pac 10 game:

Arizona is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games, 4-9 ATS in their last 13 road games, and has an Under record of 5-2 in their last 7 road games.

Oregon is 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games as a favorite of 10.5 or more and has an Over record of 15-5-1 in their last 21 home games.

Our Selection : The Ducks were steamrolling everyone before Cal held them to 15 points in a narrow Ducks win. The Wildcats have played decent defense throughout the season, but have struggled to light up the scoreboard in Pac 10 play.
Take under 60.5 points at 5Dimes.
