In a Pac 10 match up on Saturday night that has HUGE BCS implications the 4th ranked Oregon Ducks host the 9th ranked Stanford Cardinal. Both of these teams are 4-0 and 1-0 in the Pac 10.

The Ducks have been stellar on offense this season ranking 1st in points scored and 3rd in rushing yards per game and their defense is solid as well ranking 23rd in the nation. However, they gave up 597 yards of offense in their last game against Arizona State.

Stanford has Heisman hopeful Andrew Luck and he will have to play well for the Cardinal to win this game.

Even though Oregon won the Pac 10 last season and played in the Rose Bowl they may want to exact some revenge against Stanford, who was their only conference loss last season.

In their last games Stanford beat Notre Dame 37-14 and Oregon beat Arizona State 42-31.

Heading into this game both Oregon and Stanford are 3-1 ATS.

Luck leads the Stanford offense and while he did have 238 passing yards with 1 TD in the win over Notre Dame he also had 2 INT. He will be facing the Ducks are their 31st ranked pass defense that did not play well last week giving up 387 yards in the air in the Arizona State game.

If the front line D of the Ducks cannot get to Luck he may put up huge numbers against a mediocre Oregon secondary. Luck will have to take care of the ball and make good throws, as he was picked off twice last week and Oregon had 4 INT against Arizona State.

RB Stepfan Taylor is the featured RB for the Cardinal and he rushed for 108 last week, but only averaged 2.9 yards per carry. Luck can also run the ball and they are matched up against Oregon and their 44th ranked rushing defense that gave up 210 rushing yards against Arizona State.

Oregon used a well-balanced attack to beat Arizona State with 260 passing yards and 145 rushing yards. QB Darron Thomas had a good game going 19/33 for 260 yards with 2 TD and 1 INT and stud RB LaMichael James had 114 yards with 1 TD even though he only averaged 4.1 yards per carry.

Stanford has the nation's 11th ranked defense and they are better defending the pass than the run and if they can contain James they have a good shot at an upset.

Stanford is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games, and has an Over record of 7-2 in their last 9 games.

Oregon is 7-2 ATS in their last 9 home games, 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Pac 10 games, and has an Over record of 9-2 in their last 11 games.

In the last 5 games between these 2 teams the total has gone Over 5 times.

Our Selection : Both teams are 4-0 this season, but Stanford playing much superior defense and has faced superior opponents overall. They are playing back to back games on the road and the Ducks are one of the better home teams, but we think that the Cardinal has enough left in the tank. Take Stanford +7 at Bodog.
