On Saturday evening in a SEC vs. ACC match up the 16th ranked Auburn Tigers (2-0 1-1 ATS) host the Clemson Tigers (2-0 0-1 ATS). This game is important for both teams before they begin their conference schedules and Auburn plays in the tough SEC facing South Carolina, Arkansas, LSU, and Alabama, who are all currently ranked in the top 15 in the nation.

Clemson begins ACC play next week facing 17th ranked Miami and Auburn will get their first test since their 2 wins this season have both came against cream puff teams.

Last Saturday Clemson crushed a weak Presbyterian team 58-21 while Auburn had a tougher game beating a solid Mississippi State team 17-14 last Thursday.

Auburn is led by their rushing offense, which ranks 9th in the nation. Cameron Newton is a duel-threat QB, who last week passed for 136 yards with 2 TD and 1 INT and rushed for 70 yards. He and RB Onterio McCalebb, who had 68 yards rushing and averaged 5.7 yards per carry last week, form a solid rushing combo.

Clemson' defense has a great pass rush and a good secondary, but their one main weakness if their run defense, which is not good for them in this game. Clemson gave up 190 rushing yards in their opening win over North Texas and 140 to Presbyterian last week and these 2 schools do not have the talent that Auburn does in the backfield, so they have a tough task this Saturday evening.

Last week Clemson gave up 279 yards on offense to Football Subdivision opponent Presbyterian, who has now lost 24 straight games.

The Clemson offense is led by QB Kyle Parker and he is a big and athletic QB that will be playing behind a Tigers' offensive line whose strength is their pass protection.

Clemson's top 2 RB's Jamie Harper and Andre Ellington only had a grand total of 6 carries between them in the easy win last week and these 2 will be counted on to move the chains against Auburn.

Auburn has a good defense and their strength is defending the pass and their concerns are stopping the run.

Both teams can run the ball and the key will be which team can defend the run. Auburn is at home and they come into this game beating a solid team AND they have had a week and a half to get ready for Clemson. This game will likely be a good one and the one thing that is for sure is that the Tigers will win.
