TCU Horned Frogs at Utah Utes Betting Preview

In the biggest game of the season for both teams and one that has major BCS implications the 5th ranked Utah Utes (8-0) host the 3rd ranked TCU Horned Frogs (9-0). The loser of this game has no chance to play in a BCS bowl game while the winner does and may even have a shot at the national title.

Both teams have a solid offense, especially TCU and their 9th ranked rushing offense, and the Horned Frogs have the nation's top-ranked defense while the Utes are no slouches ranking 6th. TCU has not played in a close game since the first one of the season while Utah got a scare from Air Force last week.

While TCU has been a decent betting team this season with an ATS record of 5-4 Utah has made their bettors happy going 6-1-1 ATS. The home team has covered the spread in 4 of the last 5 meetings between these 2 teams.

Horned Frogs' QB Andy Dalton put up 252 yards and threw 2 TD against UNLV last week. The Utes must make him beat them and not Wesley, who is the big offensive weapon for TCU.

Utah has a more well-balanced offensive attack ranking 27th in the nation in rushing yards per game and 33rd in passing yards per game. They will be facing a ferocious TCU defense that is stellar against both the run and the pass. Utah QB Jordan Wynn and the RB duo of Eddie Wide and Matt Asiata will have to play well for the Utes to win.

Utah's offense did not play that good in the 5-point win over Air Force last week, as they needed 5 turnovers from their D to win.

Last season the Horned Frogs routed the Utes 55-28 and Utah can get some sweet home revenge if they can return the favor this season.
