Ohio State Buckeyes at Iowa Hawkeyes Betting Odds

Opening point spread odds - total lines at 5Dimes : Ohio State -3 / Iowa +3

Ohio State (9-1) lost to Wisconsin earlier in the season and unless the Badgers lose the Buckeyes may be out of the BCS picture unless they move up in the BCS rankings. They may be able to do that if they can beat Iowa (7-3) this Saturday and are convincing doing it. Ohio State has had 3 blowout wins in a row since losing to Wisconsin, while Iowa is coming off a tough loss in their last game, which cost them 7 spots in the polls. They are out of the BCS picture, but can improve the bowl they play in by beating Ohio State.

In their last games Iowa was upset losing to Northwestern 21-17 while Ohio State came back from trailing 14-3 at halftime to beat Penn State 38-14.

Iowa has not beat Ohio State since the 2004 season.

Ohio State has been a great betting team this season going 8-2 ATS while Iowa is 5-5 ATS. Ohio State has covered the spread in 7 of their last 9 games against Iowa.

Can Iowa and their 16th ranked defense contain Buckeyes' QB Terrelle Pryor? That is the big question in this game. Pryor has passed for 2,136 yards with 22 TD and he is also Ohio State's 2nd leading rusher with 512 yards and 4 TD. Iowa has the nation's 4th ranked rushing defense and they will have their hands full with Pryor as RB Dan Herron, who rushed for 190 yards last week in the win over Penn State. Iowa's D cannot let the Buckeyes rack up the rushing yards, as they have to force Pryor to beat them with his arm. However, they gave up 318 passing yards to Northwestern last week in a loss.

Iowa has a well balanced offense with QB Ricky Stanzi and RB Adam Robinson. They both played well against Northwestern and Robinson rushed for over 100 yards. Ohio State's defense ranks 6th in the nation defending the pass and 5th defending the run. The Buckeyes only have 16 sacks on the season and Stanzi wil have time to find his targets, but will be facing one of the best secondaries in the nation.
