Wisconsin Badgers at Michigan Wolverines Betting Odds

Opening point spread odds - total lines at 5Dimes:
Wisconsin -5.5 / Michigan +5.5 O/U: TBA

Both Wisconsin (9-1) and Michigan (7-3) will be playing in a bowl, but even though the Badgers only have one loss it was a big one to Michigan State. Unless the Spartans lose Wisconsin will not win the Big 10, but they still have a shot to play in a BCS game if they can win out. The Badgers scored 83 points in their last game, which is not good for a Michigan D that ranks 100th in the nation. The Wolverines have won 2 straight after dropping 3 in a row and they can really improve the bowl they play in if they can score a home upset this Saturday.

Wisconsin scored the most points in a Big 12 game since 1950 in their 83-20 rout of Indiana in their last game while Michigan beat Purdue 27-16 last week.

While Michigan is having a good season they have not been a good betting team going 3-7 ATS while Wisconsin is 5-5 ATS. While the Badgers have an ATS record of 6-1-1 in their last 8 games against the Wolverines, but betting on them may not be a lock, as the home team is 4-0-1 ATS in the last 5 games between these 2 Big 10 rivals.

Wisconsin racked up 598 yards in the blowout win over Indiana and they ran all over the Hoosiers rushing for 338 yards. Michigan's rushing defense ranks 75th in the nation and their passing defense ranks 114th. QB Scott Tolzien is a decent passing QB, but he will likely not air it out much if Michigan cannot stop the run. Since the Badgers have such a good offense and Michigan does not have a good defense the Wolverines' offense may have to light up the scoreboard to win this game.

Michigan QB Denard Robinson is a duel threat QB that has passed for 1,990 yards and rushed for 1,417 yards and he will have to play great for the Wolverines to win. He had 4 turnovers (2 INT 2 fumbles) in last week's win over Purdue and if that happens again Michigan will suffer their 4th loss of the season this Saturday. Wisconsin has a solid defense and they rank in the top 30 in the nation in both pass defense and run defense.

Michigan has yet to beat a ranked team this season and they have not covered the spread one time in their last 5 games facing a team with a winning record.

In some other betting trends for this Big 10 game:

Wisconsin is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games and has an Over record of 5-1-1 in their last 7 games.

Michigan is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games and they have an Over record of 4-1 in their last 5 games.
