New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys Betting Preview

Opening Line: Giants +3 / Cowboys -3 O/U 45

Time: 8:30 PM EST Monday October 25, 2010 on ESPN

The Cowboys may be in panic mode since they are only 1-4 on the season and to right their ship they will be facing a hot Giants (4-2) team on Monday night that has won 3 straight and is tied with the Eagles atop the tough NFC East. Dallas has yet to win at home this season and costly turnovers and stupid penalties have cost them in the last couple of games. The Giants have really turned things around winning 3 in a row, but they did not look that great, especially on defense, in beating the lowly Lions by 8 points in their last game.

Jerry Jones has stated he will not fire head coach Wade Phillips, but if the Cowboys continue to lose I would not hold the Dallas owner to his word.

Not only is Dallas 1-4 on the season, but they are also 1-4 ATS and in their last 4 games against the Giants the Cowboys have only covered the spread one time. This season the Giants are 3-3 ATS.

The Cowboys have yet to win at home this season (0-2) while the Giants are 1-1 on the road.

In their last games the Cowboys lost to the Minnesota Vikings 24-21 while the Giants beat the Detroit Lions 28-20.

QB Tony Romo leads Dallas and their 4th ranked passing offense and while Romo has put up a ton of yards on the season turnovers are killing him and in the last 2 games he has 5 picks. He is not getting much help on offense from a rushing attack that only ranks 23rd in the league in rushing yards per game. The Giants have been solid on defense this season and unlike last season they are finally healthy. New York ranks 2nd in the league in opponents' passing yards per game and 7th in opponents' rushing yards per game.

New York QB Eli Manning has been playing well and last week in the win over Detroit he passed for 177 yards with 2 TD and 0 INT. Where the Giants have been stellar this season is running the ball with the league's 5th ranked rushing offense. RB Ahmad Bradshaw ran for 133 yards last week and he is the 3rd leading rusher in the NFL. The Cowboys have been pretty good on defense and last week they held Adrian Peterson to only 73 yards averaging 3 yards per carry and they have to play well again this Sunday against Bradshaw.

It is only week 7 in the NFL, but this may be a make or break game for Dallas, who cannot afford another loss if they want to make it back to the playoffs.

New York is 19-7 ATS in their last 26 road games, 5-12 ATS in their last 17 games overall, and has an Over record of 8-3 in their last 11 games.

Dallas is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games, 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games against teams in the NFC, and has an Under record of 11-5 in their last 16 games.

In the last 9 games between these 2 teams the Over record is 6-2-1.
