Time: Sunday October 21, 2012 1 PM EST
Redskins ATS / Over/Under: 3-3 ATS O/U 5-1
Giants ATS / Over/Under: 3-2-1 ATS O/U 2-4
Robert Griffin III had a great game in the Redskins (3-3) last win over the Vikings and this game will be his first in the killer NFC East, The Giants (4-2) are coming off a very impressive win beating the San Francisco 49ers on the road where they only gave up 3 points.
It is no surprise that Eli Manning leads a great passing offense, but it is a surprise that he is finally getting some help on offense with Ahmad Bradshaw rushing for over 315 yards in his last 2 games.
Manning leads New York and their 4th ranked passing attack and the Giants have a slew of solid WR's in Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks and an emerging star in Domenik Hixon. Manning and the receivers have to be a major concern for the Redskins' pass defense that gave up over 350 passing yards last week and ranks dead last in the league.
Washington has a good run defense and they played well facing Minnesota's Adrian Peterson last week and they have a tough task trying to take down Bradshaw, who has looked fantastic carrying the ball in the last 2 games.
RG3 did not have a big passing game against the Vikings, but he was a terror on the ground rushing for 138 yards with 2 TD. He peeled off a 76-yard TD run and the Giants' D has to keep him in the pocket and not allow him to make plays with his legs. This is especially the case since the Redskins do not have a great WR corps. However, one player the Giants and their 21st ranked pass D has to worry about is TE Fred Davis.
The Giants had 6 sacks last week after only having 8 in their rest of their games and the Washington offensive line must play well protecting their rookie QB.
The Giants played great run defense last week against the 49ers and if they can stuff the run in this game they will be sitting pretty. The Redskins are led in the rushing attack by rookie Alfred Morris and while he has over 500 rushing yards on the season he struggled in the Vikings' game with 47 yards on the ground on 16 carries. Mike Shanahan likes to establish the run and he will attempt to do that early in this game.
Last season the Redskins beat the Giants twice.
Redskins at Giants Betting Trends
The Redskins are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. win and they have an Over record of 3-0-1 in their last 4 games on the road.
The Giants are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games, 7-1-1 ATS in their last 9 games following a S.U. win, and they have an Under record of 10-3 in their last 13 games.
In the last 10 games between these 2 teams the total has gone Under 7 times.
Pick: I have to admit I am a Redskins' fan and while I think RG3 will play well Manning will tear up the Washington secondary and the Giants will win and cover the spread.
