New Jersey Devils August 27/2010
Ilya Kovalchuk's Russian agent, Yuri Nikolaev, has set a 48-hour deadline for the NHL to get a deal done with his client. At that point it is likely that Kovalchuk will explore signing elsewhere and the KHL could be his destination. He still has a three-year, $42 million deal on the table from SKA St. Petersburg. The Devils and Kovalchuk's camp are still trying to find a deal that the NHL will accept.
Vancouver Canucks August 18/2010
Willie Mitchell is reportedly drawing interest from at least four teams, the Los Angeles Kings, San Jose Sharks, Vancouver Canucks and Washington Capitals. He has been working out with this teams to show them that he is ready to return from a concussion that sidelined him for the last 34 regular-season games and all 12 playoff games.
Chicago Black Hawks August 16/2010
Nick Boynton has signed a one-year contract with the Blackhawks. He was picked up in a trade last March with the Anaheim Ducks. Boynton, Boston's 1st round pick in 1999, played in 7 regular season games and 3 of the 6 games in the Stanley Cup final with Chicago.

Steve Mason has been working hard in the off season to improve hee's fitness level. Goaltenders coach Dave Rook says that Steve is putting in the work and has shown a lot of dedication in getting his body in shape for the up coming season.

GM Brian Burke has yet to pull the trigger on a deal involving Thomas Kaberle. Burke has said the simple truth is he hasn't seen a deal yet that has been worth acting on. He figures he'll see some better offers over the weekend as the dealine of Sunday at midnight approaches.
Philadelphia Flyers August 13/2010
Chris Pronger says he may not be ready to go in time for training camp and might miss the start of the regular season. Pronger had minor knee surgery at the end of July after injuring it back in game one the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Calgary Flames August 11/2010
Staffan Kronwall is reportedly trying to play in Sweden next season so he could be closer to his family. He still has a year left on his current deal and according to a source the Calgary Flames are trying to help accommodate his wishes. The club is trying to either deal him to an Eastern Conference team, which would make travel easier for his wife, or work out a way for him to play in Europe.

Ilya Kovalchuk has resumed contract talks with the Devils after the arbitrator ruled in favor of the NHL and voided the 17 year $102 million contract. This opens the door for other clubs to try and sign Kovalchuk as well.
